Setting it up

Log in, scan the QR code and you're away.

  1. 1

Unbox it and give it a home

Your Samsung phone arrives set up for your household. Give it a fixed, visible spot, like the hall table or a kitchen shelf.

  2. 2

    Link it to your account

Create your account and scan the QR code. The phone links securely to your parent dashboard. There is nothing to install.

  3. 3

    Register the SIM

Once it's linked, you need to register the SIM with its mobile network, in your own name. The network texts the HomeFón a password, which shows in your dashboard.

  4. 4

    Create inboxes and add contacts

In your dashboard, create an inbox for each child and approve their contacts. Then set the quiet hours for the phone.

HomeFón is a child-friendly, shared family phone for calls and texts.

It lives in a shared spot at home and works together with a parent dashboard. It comes with a pay-as-you-go SIM, or you can use your own Irish SIM from any carrier.

  • Make and receive calls with approved people, on its own mobile number
  • Texts with approved contacts
  • Group texts in groups of up to 5 (your child and 4 approved contacts)
  • Free messages between HomeFón phones over Wi-Fi, and ordinary texts when there's no Wi-Fi. A text sent when either phone has no internet is charged like any text.

Calls and texts use SIM credit. You keep it topped up, like any pay-as-you-go phone.

Give it a home.

HomeFón works best in a fixed, shared spot, like the hall table or a kitchen shelf. It lives there, rather than drifting from room to room. When your child goes out, it can go with them, and afterwards it comes back to its place.

A phone that knows its place.

What runs where

On the phone

On the phone, your child sees a simple home screen with their own inbox to tap into. The rules you set keep working even without internet, and a parent PIN protects the phone's settings. No HomeFón setting blocks a call to 999 or 112.

In your dashboard

In your dashboard, you manage what happens on your HomeFón. You control what your child will see: contacts, message groups, quiet hours and emergency contacts. It all works online, from your phone or computer.

What we see, and what we don't

We do not monitor what's said on a call or message. Your child's texts stay on the phone unless you choose to read them. Messages between HomeFón phones pass through our system unread to reach each other. Texts from unknown numbers, and any photo or video, never reach your child. They're held in your dashboard for you to check.

Make HomeFón part of your family home.
